Artist Statement: adam thomas
Color and Light
Whether I am painting abstract or representational works, I focus on dramatic lighting and pops of color. With high contrast and competing colors, the viewer can dive into a painting with a feast of experiences. I get a lot of my inspiration from how light affects our surroundings at different times of day. In some of my more whimsical paintings, you may find bubbles or a single red tree. The bubbles evoke happy and joyful emotions where the red tree symbolizes strength.

We are thrilled to announce the opening of the first certified organic brewery in the state of Illinois! Cozy storefront micro-brewery right next door features a seven-barrel brewhouse along with serving tanks that feed directly into Uncommon Ground’s tap system. It really doesn’t get any fresher than that!
organic rooftop farm
our Edgewater location featured the first certified organic rooftop farm in the United States. We utilized 100% of all the produce grown directly below in the restaurant. before closing, we hosted annual urban agriculture internship opportunities during the summers as well as educational opportunities by appointment.
