Rooted in folk and rock n' roll, singer/songwriter Matthew Santos embodies a balance of lyrical sincerity and musical complexity in his dynamic songs about the nature of love, freedom, heartache and longing. Performing mostly in Chicago Land area and Minneapolis as a solo artist and with a full band, Matthew Santos has been writing original songs for almost eight years, and released his first independent full-length album "Change Is Better" in the late winter of 2004 with only a short run of 200 copies being produced and distributed. Having enough new material for two more records by early 2005, he decided to focus his energies on refining existing songs and exploring new musical possibilities. He has begun recording his second full-length album in collaboration with sound engineer Greg "G-Ball" Magers and with the aid of the gifted musicians that make up the full band experience informally known as the Matthew Santos Project.----- After talks of signing a deal with a major lable, Matthew Santos intends on always remaining a credible "by-the-art-for-the-art" musician, as his Chicago/Minneapolis following continues to grow deeper. Matthew Santos' second album is scheduled for release in early summer of '06.
