Girl meets boy. Boy meets girl. What is the result? An explosive combination of creative and musical talents from Armando Perez and Caroline Yohanan. Their sound elevates and refreshes Chicago’s underground music scene with uncompromising ideals and dazzling grassroots production.

In 2005, under the name Frequency Below, they independently produced and released an acclaimed live band/electronic album called "Foundation." On this debut, the two young lovers found a unique passion in each other as they shared writing duties and proclaimed any genre their own.

Building on this learning experience and looking for a new creative outlet, the couple began to record their second album, 2007’s “Belmont Electric.” What began as a trip-hop alter ego eventually developed into a solid new identity: Lovers In Arms. An electronic album at its core, “Belmont Electric” became the experimental rebirth of the duo as writers, musicians, and performers. Their efforts were applauded by David Jakubiak of the Chicago Sun-Times in his 2007 article entitled,"Duo Embraces Love in Music, Life." According to Jakubiak, "The honesty of the stories on the album comes from their autobiographical genesis."

Their music conveys the desires of the artistic culture in which they live. It is a poignant, expressive vehicle for the sentimental lover, for the subversive youth, and for the fearless rebel. They see it simply: make inspiring music and never surrender your right to create or be creative.

Their live performances and studio recordings could never be complete without multi-instrumentalist and long-time friend, Ryan Schoen. A masterful bassist, Schoen has played with the couple since their 2003 introduction.
In 2006, in an effort to bring "Belmont Electric" to the stage, they enlisted Dan Lieber on drums for his positivity, creative diligence, and eclectic rhythms. Live shows are amped up even further with the unparalleled energy of contributing percussionist Juan Lugo.

After building a studio in their Chicago home, the boy and girl are recording, refining, and still redefining their sound for a diverse and energetic audience. Their third album, due out this summer (2008) will challenge all listeners with its live band aesthetic, honest lyrics, and gorgeous vocals.
