	The Lava Brothers We are brothers. We have a love-hate relationship with irony. We cannot name-drop more than a few obscure bands. We argue about whether it matters whether “people will like it.” Jesse believes in Jesus Christ and Josh does not. We both believe in Charles Darwin. We vote Democratic. We loathe Frank Zappa but understand his appeal. We obsessively reference movies and TV shows — like, actually obsessively, not, “Yeah, everyone does that these days” obsessively. We routinely (if reluctantly) eat at Barry's on Broadway because it's a block from Josh's apartment, which, by the way, is where we usually end up rehearsing even though it’s a long commute for Jesse, given Josh’s “the recording equipment is here” trump card. We miss our mother, though we remember her very differently. We suspect that a lot of songwriters who write inscrutable lyrics are afraid to show who they really are. We’re afraid, too. We are ultimately very hopeful. We believe authenticity is worth it. We know how lucky we are. We’re glad you’re listening.
