Drawing from influences as diverse as Gillian Welch, Van Morrison, and mid-90s grunge rock, Emily’s songs are literate and poetic, alternating between self-consciousness and abandon. Emily performs solo and recently recorded a split EP with singer-songwriter Kevin Finn. She also fronts an indie-folk outfit, Emily Rodgers & Her Majesty’s Stars that embraces a fuller sound as the band takes its cue from alternative country acts as well as more atmospheric influences. Emily Rodgers has shared the stage with many like-minded artists, including: Magnolia Electric Company, Laura Cantrell, Megan Reilly, Great Lake Swimmers, Rebecca Gates, Nina Nastasia, Clem Snide, and Jolie Holland. | |
