Watson Park
The band Watson Park, hailing from Lexington, Kentucky, is the kind of group that makes one say, "Yeah, that's my friend's band", simply because one is proud to know such a talented bunch.
Watson Park, comprised of five individuals from around the state of Kentucky, just released their self-titled debut album in June 2006. The album is a quality piece of work - lyrics carefully written and set to melodic, often acoustic tunes, and Dunn's earnest voice makes the music believable, giving the songs an autobiographical feel.
The idea for the band began as merely a project for Philip Dunn - writing songs with no intent to develop them to become anything more. It wasn't until Dunn and friend Tyler Amos began recording music for close family and friends that they decided it was good enough to take it a bit further. After adding Jessica McKinney, Casey Adkins, and Scott Singleton, they chose the name, drawing from Dunn and Amos's favorite childhood cartoon, "Spiderman". |
