“I write to express who I am and I sing to reflect who I am becoming, in hopes that others will be inspired to grow with me,” said singer-songwriter Jennifer Lucrezio.

Though raised in a small, upstate New York town, this is one girl with anything but small aspirations. As a child, the answer to that frequently asked question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” was always the same: “I want to be a singer.”

Lucrezio, a twenty-two-year-old college graduate, is continuing to pursue this dream of creating and performing music that pours from the depths of her experiences. The reality and rawness of genuine words connect audiences with Lucrezio’s music. Piano driven ballads, combined with acoustic and alternative overtones, make up a unique style that captivates the ear, yet maintains structured familiarity for a wide span of listeners.

Recently, Lucrezio refined her skills as a vocalist, pianist and songwriter at the Contemporary Music Center, an invitation-only artist colony on Martha’s Vineyard. Classes in songwriting, recording and performance were complemented with hours of hands-on experience that developed this artist’s knowledge of the music industry. In that knowledge, Jennifer set-up a three and a half month local tour in New York State's Capital Region, playing at various colleges, clubs, coffeehouses and churches. Having recently relocated to Chicago, Jennifer is beginning to explore Chicagoland's music scene, taking this recording artist's career to a new level.

It remains apparent that her drive to inspire through the power of music is a fire that will not quickly grow dim. It is in this passion that the true artist emerges.

“If when I sing, if the heart of the individual is touched, if I can speak words that resound with familiarity, if I can make people feel alive and drive them to search for more than what they know,” Lucrezio said, “Then the music has spoken and I have done what I was born to do.”
