Ryan Suzuka
Although originally from Hawaii, Ryan didn't start to play the ukulele until he arrived in Chicago in the Fall of 2000. He rarely listens (or ever listened) to Hawaiian music and cites blues, pop, folk, country, and classic rock as his main influences. Ryan currently shares a three bedroom apartment, works two (or three) jobs, writes music, and performs in the city of Chicago. Besides singing and songwriting, he is also an accomplished blues harmonica player influenced by Jerry Portnoy, James Cotton, Sonny Boy Williamson II, and a little Sonny Terry. |
