Born in Hawaii to Australian parents, Samantha grew up on the road, singing in her family’s band, The Murphys. The family toured the United States from the time Samantha could walk, opening for artists such as Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson. About her early experience with the “business” side of show, Samantha says “My older sister and I would sell our albums off the stage after the show. They were $8.00 then. When I was nine years old, I asked my dad what our ‘cut’ was and where my share of the profits was going. From then on, I got $1.00 for every album we sold.” "Totally awesome!!!
