Billboard Magazine compares her to “a young Sarah McLachlan”; The Boston Globe thinks she’s more “Aretha”. With her roots in the blues, classic soul, R&B, gospel and folk, the result is a personal brand of pop music all her own. She is the winner of both BMI’s Rock Boat Song Contest and the prestigious 2004 Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriter Showcase. 2003 highlights include invitations to perform at the top U.S. festivals: The Newport Folk Festival, Dancin’ In The District in Nashville (opening for Black Eyed Peas), On The Bricks in Atlanta (opening for Wyclef Jean) and The Rock Boat. 2004 highlights include a month-long summer tour with RCA artist Citizen Cope, the BMI/NACA See It Hear First showcase at the NACA National Convention and opening for Eric Clapton at the Tweeter Center in Boston. She has performed over 250 shows in the last 18 months alone including 2005 tour dates with Jason Mraz, Toby Lightman, Citizen Cope and many others. |
