Originally from Hailey, ID, Steve Dawson has been making music in Chicago for over 15 years, first with Stump the Host in the early 90s then with the band Dolly Varden since 1995. Dawson just released his first solo album, Sweet Is The Anchor, on Undertow Records. The Chicago Daily Herald says, "Sweet Is The Anchor is a vocalist�s album awash in the languor of country music and the Saturday night highs of soul" and the Sun Times says, "Steve Dawson�s graceful, poetic pop songs are akin to a volume of great short stories in their precise, exacting wordplay and soulful heartache."
