Karen was a Shook until she recently met with fate and a wonderful guitar player and became Karen Slavin. From playing on the stage at Old Town School of Folk Music, to pan handling at the train station for tips in her cowboy hat, this girl just wants to sing. "Music is therapy" is what she has been known to say, in large or small groups, or even alone, this holds true today. Being able to share this gift warms the heart and makes her feel at home. Karen performs some originals which will show up on her upcoming release "Mood Swings", as well as various covers including Ray Charles, Norah Jones, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and oh so much more! |
